The National Institute Dutch slavery and legacy in Amsterdam has a painting by the Surinamese artist Ken Doorson i in its art collection.
The brightly colored, intense artwork called "Boni" is a painting of 160 x 190 cm, a dark depiction of a man in intense emotion, pain and hope, silhouetted against an azure blue sky. The predominant colors are yellow, red and black.
It is part of a diptych whose other copy was purchased by the hotel du Cottica Maronie Sommelsdijk of the street in Paramaribo.

Boni was treason on February 19, 1793 by a aucan chief, and he was beheaded. The head was as war booty transported to the city, but fall into the rivers. This place is known locally as the "Boni doro Sula.

Het fel gekleurde, indringende kunstwerk genaamd "Boni" is een schilderij van 160 x 190 cm, een voorstelling van een donkere man in heftige emotie, pijn en hoop, afgetekend tegen een azuur blauwe lucht. De overheersende kleuren zijn geel, rood en zwart.
Het is onderdeel van een tweeluik waarvan het andere exemplaar is aangekocht door het hotel Cottica du Maronie aan de van Sommelsdijkstraat in Paramaribo.

Boni werd door verraad op 19 februari 1793 gedood door een Aucaans opperhoofd, waarna hij onthoofd werd. Het hoofd werd als oorlogsbuit naar de stad vervoerd, maar kwam onderweg in de rivier terecht. Deze plek staat plaatselijk bekend als de ‘Boni doro sula’.
